CUSTOM PET PORTRAITS

About Me

A graphic artist, writer, and dancer, I painted my first pet portrait, “just for fun,” a number of years ago at a wonderful art studio and wine bar in Southwest Florida.

I’ve painted and crafted and created since childhood, as art in all its forms was a big part of my family’s culture—my mother was a gifted landscape and still life painter; my sister, a brilliant commercial artist and interior designer. And dad? An awesome craftsman and furniture builder and an avid music lover.

So that one magical evening at that local art studio I frequented happened to be “Paint Your Pet” night. So I did. And I was hooked. You know how artists of all mediums often struggle to find their “voice?” Well, I had too, until that evening when I painted the dark soulful eyes and cool wet nose of my rat terrier-poodle, Teddy. The strokes of his fur just flew off my brush with abandon and glee. What a blast, I thought.

Since that night, I’ve been painting furry friends with gusto. The best part
of what I do? When people see my pet portraits, it makes them smile…and sometimes even laugh out loud…repeatedly. And that’s a grand feeling!

I look forward to every opportunity I get to render someone’s fabulous, four-legged fur baby, and hopefully make them laugh out loud too.
